  • To convert betting fractions to decimals, you need to apply this simple formula to the fractional odds. Divide the first number (the numerator) by the second number (the denominator) and add 1 = decimal odds.
  • To convert a fraction to a decimal, you simply divide the numerator (the number left of the divider) by the denominator (the number right of the divider). Let’s say you want to convert fractional odds of 1/5 into decimal format. To do this, you’d do the following calculations: 1/5 = 0.2.

Calculator Use

Convert a fraction to a percent. Convert proper and improper fractions to percentages. This calculator shows the steps and work to convert a fraction to a percentage number.

Two Steps to Convert a Fraction to a Percent

  1. Use division to convert the fraction to a decimal:
    1/4 = 1 ÷ 4 = 0.25
  2. Multiply by 100 to get percent value:
    0.25 × 100 = 25%

1. Convert the fraction to a decimal number

To be able to convert from Fractional to Decimal odds you first have to enter a fraction (such as 5/2). Fractional odds are based on the amount of winnings you will receive for a certain stake. In the fraction, the second number is the stake and the first number, the profit you will make should your wager win. The different formats of odds include: Fraction; Decimal; American odds; Implied probability; Fraction and decimal odds are the most popular format of odds used by the majority of online bookmakers. An example of a fraction odd is 2/1 – this means that for every £1 a customer bets, you will receive £2 if.

The fraction bar between the top number (numerator) and the bottom number (denominator) means 'divided by.' So converting a fraction such as 1/4 to a decimal means you need to solve the math: 1 divided by 4.
1 ÷ 4 = 0.25

2. Multiply by 100 to convert decimal number to percent

Fraction To Decimal Odds Conversion

0.25 × 100 = 25%

You can reduce a fraction before converting to a decimal but it's not necessary because the answer will be the same. If you need to do the conversion by long division, reducing might make the math easier.

For example, 6/12 = 6 ÷ 12 = 0.50. If you solve this with a calculator then it is easy to get the answer. However, if you solve this by hand or in your head reducing 6/12 = 1/2 may make the problem easier and you may even recognize that 1/2 = 0.50.

Multiplying 0.50 by 100 means that 6/12 = 50%.

Decimal to Fractional

Remove 1 from the decimal and convert to a fraction, then reduce to simplest form:

(decimal-1) -> convert to fraction

Examples:

1.75: 1.75 – 1 = .75 = 75/100 = 3/4
2.20: 2.20 – 1 = 1.20 = 120/100 = 6/5

Decimal to American

To convert a decimal of 2.00 or higher:

moneyline = (decimal – 1) *100

Examples:

2.00: (2.00 – 1)*100 = 1*100 = +100
3.35: (3.35 – 1)*100 = 2.35*100 = +235

To convert a decimal of less than 2.00:

moneyline = (-100) / (decimal -1)

Examples:

1.9091 : (-100)/(1.9091 – 1) = (-100)/(0.9091) = -109.99 = -110
1.6579 : (-100)/(1.6579 – 1) = (-100)/(0.6579) = -151.98 = -152

Fractional to American

Over 1/1: Convert Fraction to Decimal and multiply by 100.

Moneyline = (fraction value)*100

Examples:

7/4: (7/4) * 100 = (1.40) * 100 = +140
6/5: (6/5) * 100 = (1.20) * 100 = +120

Under 1/1: divide -100 by the Fraction as a Decimal.

Moneyline = -100/(fraction value)

Conversion tables fractions to decimals

Examples:

1/4: -100/(1/4) = -100/.25 = -400
1/10: -100/(1/10) = -100/.1 = -1000

Fractional to Decimal

Convert the fraction to a decimal and add one.

Examples:

3/4: (3/4) + 1 = (.75) + 1 = 1.75
6/5: (6/5) + 1 = (1.20) + 1 = 2.20

American to Decimal

Positive Odds (“+”): Divide the moneyline by 100 and add 1.

decimal = (moneyline/100) +1

Examples:

+100: (100/100) + 1 = 1 + 1 = 2.00
+235: (235/100) + 1 = 2.35 + 1 = 3.35

Negative Odds (“-“): Divide 100 by the moneyline, then add this value to 1.00.

decimal = (100/moneyline) + 1

Examples:

Odds

-110: (100/110) +1 = 1 + 0.9091 = 1.9091
-152: (100/152) +1 = 1 + 0.6579 = 1.6579

American to Fractional

Positive Odds (“+”): Divide the moneyline by 100 and reduce to simplest form

(moneyline/100) -> simplest form

Examples:

+120: (120/100) = 6/5
+250: (250/100) = 5/2

Negative Odds (“-“): Divide 100 by the moneyline and reduce to simplest form

(100/moneyline) -> simplest form

Examples:

-120: (100/120) = 5/6
-300: (100/300) = 1/3
